A Little More

I’m doing PT right now rehabbing my knee (no, I haven’t had surgery yet… I’m trying to fend it off the old fashioned way). And it’s teaching me something I already believed but am now living. We weren’t built to sit still. Human beings, all creatures, were designed to move. Rest windows are short. After that, it’s on you to move a little bit more than yesterday. Not a lot more. Not a heroic amount. Just a little. Because if you move one percent more today than yesterday, and again tomorrow, and again the day after… your body responds. It heals faster. It gets stronger. It comes back. You don’t have to move more. You have to move a little more than yesterday.
