Most people wait until they feel ready. That’s usually why they miss the best experiences.

I wasn’t a golfer. A round or two a year at best. Yet there I was at the start of the 2019 Bob-n-Broc, heart pounding, little practice, borrowed gear, standing on the first tee at Rich Valley Golf Course. I’d never even seen the course before.

Forty-six minutes later, I finished with an 82. Not perfect. But a win. The real surprise wasn’t the score. It was rediscovering running through play, pressure, and curiosity.
