Many people try to build habits by putting in effort. That’s why they fail. The easier move is to stack the habit onto something that already happens. This idea, popularized by James Clear, works because it removes the decision-making process. You don’t ask, “Will I work out today?” You attach movement to a daily anchor.
Want to do 100 squats a day? Do 50 while you shower in the morning…you’re already there. Do the other 50 while brushing your teeth at night…same deal. (One example from my life.)
Nothing extra. No schedule change. No motivation required. The habit rides shotgun on behaviors that never miss. That’s the secret most people overlook. Consistency comes from design, not discipline.
Lute’s Challenge: Pick one habit you want and attach it to something you already do every single day. Test it today.
