46 Minutes of Fun: My First Speedgolf Competition

I was not a golf pro, maybe a round or two a year. But there I was, heart pounding, on the starting line of my first speedgolf competition, what was then the longest-running speedgolf competition in the world, the Bob-n-Broc. The course? Rich Valley in Rosemount, Minnesota – now sadly gone. I hadn’t even seen it before that day. I had no practice, no fancy gear, just a borrowed bag, and I hoped I wouldn’t shank it off the first tee with all kinds of people watching.

Fast forward 46 minutes. I finished with a score of 82. It was not perfect, but for a total newbie, it was a win (in more ways than one). The best part? Rediscovering running in a whole new way. Turns out, fun comes when you leave your comfort zone.

Now it’s your turn: Experience the thrill of speedgolf! Whether you’re a seasoned golfer looking for a new challenge or a runner looking for some variety, speedgolf might be the perfect fit. Head to speedgolfusa.com to find upcoming events and a community of like-minded runners and golfers.
